The Dillsburg Karate Academy teaches Isshinryu Karate and is known for using traditional Okinawan techniques and methods for learning this style. Our school is also known and well-regarded in central Pennsylvania for our Kid's Program. In all of our classes and programs, we stress respect and discipline along with gaining knowledge and improving physical ability. The school participates in many local competitions, demonstrations and other events and is highly regarded for the discipline and respect that our students demonstrate.

EVENT: The Dillsburg Karate Academy held an IOTKA Shiai (tournament) in our dojo on October 27th. The event was attended by Grandmaster Best, Grandmaster Vena and Grandmaster Hovey and many other students and instructors. At our Shiai, Master Crimmins was promoted to Ku-Dan! PROMOTION: At our Dojo Christmas Party, Mr. Patrick Kane was promoted to Go-Dan and on December 6, Sensei Kane received his belt stripes in the dojo. You can see the photos from this event on our 2012 Events Page. Congratulations to Sensei Kane on his promotion - it was well deserved.
EVENT: On December 1, 2012, our dojo held it's annual Christmas Party. Photos can be seen on our 2012 Events Page. Please join me in congratulating Master Hovey and Mr. Ralph Miller on being inducted into our Dojo Hall of Honor!
SEMINAR: On March 23, 2013, Hanshi Karl Hovey's organization the Hovey-Kan hosted a Seminar at our Dillsburg Dojo. The seminar focused on kumite techniques and drills. TOURNAMENT: On April 20, 2013, Sensei Kevin Kline and Hanshi Karl Hovey are hosting the 10th Annual King George Open Karate Tournement in King George, VA. Registration begins at 9:00am and the event beginning at 11:00am. The dojo has participated for a number of years and it is a great tournament. A flyer and registration form can be found HERE.
