   
The Dillsburg Karate Academy teaches Isshinryu Karate and is known for using traditional Okinawan techniques and methods for learning this style. Our school is also known and well-regarded in central Pennsylvania for our Kid's Program. In all of our classes and programs, we stress respect and discipline along with gaining knowledge and improving physical ability. The school participates in many local competitions, demonstrations and other events and is highly regarded for the discipline and respect that our students demonstrate.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Our dojo welcomes a new Blackbelt. Congratulations to David Lapp in completing his test for Sho-Dan (1st Degree). Many thanks to Hovey Sensei for participating in this test. EVENT: Our dojo held a demonstration for the 2011 Dillsburg Farmers Fair. The participants, both kids and adult, did a fantastic job. Thanks to Mr. Ralph Miller for organizing this event. Photos can be found on our 2011 Events Page.
 
ANNOUNCEMENT: Our dojo welcomes our newest Blackbelt. Congratulations to Matt Hillyer in completing his test for Sho-Dan (1st Degree). Matt is only our second student to come all the way through our Kids Program, through the Adult class to this rank. Matt has experienced many things and did VERY well at his test. ANNOUNCEMENT: Our dojo held our annual Christmas/Holiday party at the Carlisle Fish and Game facility between Mechanicsburg and Carlisle, on December 3, 2011. As part of that ceremony, Master Rod Crimmins and Sensei Terri Tamecki were inducted into the dojo's Hall of Honor. For some photos, please see our 2011 Event Page.
EVENT: Our dojo held a Voluntary Breaking Night at the dojo on 11/16/11. There are photos on the website via the 2011 Events page. All the students who participated did a great job!
Tournaments: Master Vasquez has announced that the dojo will participate in two upcoming tournaments. The first is the Mifflin County Classic on February 25th., and the King George Open on April 21. ANNOUNCEMENT: Hanshi Karl Hovey will be conducting a Kata and Bunkai Seminar at the Dillsburg Karate Academy on March 24th, 2012. You can find more information at this link. Master Hovey is a great instructor and we are looking forward to this event!
